Since September

In the months since my server went down and I became temporarily isolated from the Interweb and the Blagosphere, I’ve actually managed to get some reading in. Here’s the read list since I went offline:

  • Iron Council, China Miéville
  • The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell
  • Freakonomics, Steven Levitt & Steven …
  • The Road, Cormac McCarthy
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, JK. Rowling.
  • Choke, Chuck Palahniuk
  • The Long Tail, Chris Anderson
  • Fragile Things, Neil Gaiman
  • Survivor, Chuck Palahniuk
  • Sjálfstæði Íslands 1809, … Briem
  • How the Irish Invented Slang, Daniel Cassidy

Back up

Ahoy folks. Smári’s manic blagoblag of ultimate silliness™ is back in business after a way too long hiatus. A lot has happened in the last two months, a lot of which has a lot to do with changing the way the world works. More on that in later posts.

This post is mostly just to say hey, I’m alive, I’m well, I’m full of piss and vinegar, I’m busy as always and.. well. Yes.

There have been a few changes on my blog. First off, now I’m using Wordpress rather than my old system. I’ll be importing the old entries as soon as I get access to my database. The features of my old site (i.e. bookshelf, beer list, articles, fiction, &c) will be imported too but I’ve got several interesting changes on all of the above that will be made clear in due time.

For far too long I’ve avoided specialized software I didn’t write myself, but now I’ll be using Flickr and YouTube along with Wordpress for ultimate multimedia madness.

YAY! Rock on.
