“The average westerner is so indoctrinated into scarcity that abundance is foreign.” - Marcin Jakubowski
Perhaps the quote of the year. This was said in response to James Edwards, who said, amongst other things:
“Fundamentalists, radicals, revolutionaries, nonviolent resistors, nonconformists, centralists, anarchists, hackers, neo-tribalists, the working poor, peasants, and indigenous peoples all would share at least the common aspiration of abundance and could be united under the umbrella of this new political economy. Brilliant.”
Over the last year I have become aquainted with many of the best minds in the world. James is a recent addition to this amazing entourage, but here he pulls it together in a magnificent way.
I’m so glad to be a part of this coming revolution.

Hi Smari,
thanks for the kind comment.
What I neglected to mention is that all those people have particular things that they could contribute and share.
This political economy won’t have the condescending and patronising top down approach of modern liberalism or the self-righteous moralising of conservatism, but will be characterised by strengthening and “intensifying” the latent abilities and capabilities of people.
Nothing infuriates me more than Oxfam’s patronising motto, “give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach him to fish and he eats every day.” god give me strength.
People have been fishing for fckn thousands of years. Theres no way an ignorant Westerner is going to be able to teach a fisherman better ways to fish when his family has probably been doing it for generations.

Hi Smari,
Just wondering if you received my last email.
I’d be interested in hearing your response.
